Fiberglass

Fiberglass

Silane coupling agents are used in glass fiber reinforced composites to improve the mechanical properties of dry and wet states;
Stabilize the electrical properties;
Improve the processing characteristics;
Improve the treatment of glass fibers in the manufacture of composite materials;
Increase the elasticity and strength of thermally insulating glass fibers.

Silane coupling agent forms a chemical bond between the surface of the glass fiber and the polymer (composite matrix), prevents moisture from penetrating into the interface between the glass fibers and the polymer, thereby increasing stress transfer from polymer to fiber;
Preserve the tensile strength of glass fiber;
It is beneficial to improve the processing properties of the fiber and increase the integrity of the single fiber.

Advantages

Improve performance

Improve the bundleability, protection and processing properties of fiberglass.

Material modification

Improve the mechanical and electrical properties of composites.

Promote bonding

As an adhesion promoter between inorganic materials and polymer substrates.
