HENGDA-S2133, chemical name 3-Methacryloxypropyltris(trimethylsiloxy)silane, (commonly referred to as TRIS, CAS No.: 17096-07-0) is a specialized organosilane coupling agent with unique structural and functional characteristics. It contains a methacryloxy functional group (CH₂=C(CH₃)COO–) attached via a propyl linker to a silicon atom, which is bonded to three trimethylsiloxy (OSi(CH₃)₃) groups. Due to the presence of multiple trimethylsilyl groups, TRIS imparts hydrophobic and oleophobic characteristics to the composite. Some times trimethylsiloxane is even more oleophobic than fluorinated compounds.
