Reliability in Harsh Conditions
Solar panels and electronics require materials that survive decades of UV exposure and thermal stress. Silane crosslinkers are key to encapsulation and circuitry protection.
In photovoltaic modules, silane-crosslinked ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) encapsulants prevent delamination at 85°C/85% humidity, boosting panel lifespan beyond 30 years. For flexible printed circuits, urethane-acrylate resins modified with silanes withstand 10,000+ bend cycles without cracking.
Crosslinked silicone gels using phenyl silanes also shield semiconductor chips from thermal shock, enabling 5G infrastructure to operate reliably at -40°C to 150°C.
